Googling bullshitters claims

Googling bullshitters claims would be pointless since the “proofs” of their claims exist only in their minds.

On Bullshit

I realize that ‘normal’ people’s irrational spouting of idiosyncratic bullshit is borne from their – hu-hem - intellectual and social issues, and I also realize that they probably cannot understand the flaws in their contentions, but my best advice would be for them to take the time to enlighten themselves.

Surrender monkeys to the neo-liberal forces

Obviously, the on-and-off of fascism is a bear on most Italian leftwingers backs, but the Left isn't helping. They would have overextended themelves but made it back, if the Left hadn't pushed them. You can't threaten leftwingers with locking them in some dim rooms as if they were children and expect that to help! The poor Italian Left is out of its depth. Neither the Left nor anything else is helping them, and they really need help. The’ve fallen into a frozen gully and have lost consciousness. Hopefully, the leftwingers will come to when they start shaking uncontrollably and make it back despite the injured ankle and the onset of hypothermia.  Italy certainly isn't timid with her cliffhangers. One needs to have done search and rescue. The leftwingers could die out there. They won't because the story can't lose them. They’re going to need to skip the race, though, unless they want that injury to be permanent.

Setting up for infidelity

As much as I love Italy I've got to say that the rest of the world is what I like the best. I'm always making a huge mistake getting too comfy in this cocky, arrogant, rude country. Believing that the Italian  joie de vivre is what equates to be content is a false and delusional assumption. If the belief is that answers to discontent can be resolved by finding and enjoying stable love story, relationships are set up for failure. I love Italian beaches ad pizzas but that has to compete for first prize with Swiss chocolate and the alpine glow in the Austrian mountains at sunset.

Practicing deceit

While skimming one of Gombrowicz's books I stumbled over this sentence by Zeromski : 'It is impossible to fight with what the soul has chosen.'  Like a vast amount of so-called aphorisms this Zeromski thing is total shit, unless one means by it that the necessary existence of the soul, with all its hypothetical qualities, has been proven, which is not the case. The Internet bazaar (Twitter nd Facebook) is crowded with such nonsensical items. One fashions an idea to produce logical monsters, there is nothing wrong with it, of course, such intellectual dishonesty is not intended to harm or get unfair advantage. Still the result is a practiced deceit. Sentences can be nonsensical yet they allow a certain understanding of ourselves (see on this, Wittgenstein, Tractatus).

Controlling my movements. Towards the Ethical Robot

‘Looking back as well as forward.’ This doesn’t mean anything to me other than I feel sorry that someone thought it meaningful. I’m not Janus-faced. No need to be careful with my neck. Unlike dogs I can’t look backwards or over my shoulder. My movements are probably controlled by a defective console: I can only look forward and move accordingly, or move to the side if someone puts my brain in third person mode.

The thick wall around the abscess. On Fascism

‘The dreadnaught of fascism shall never stamp out the beauty of individual liberty’ (Paul Ron). This is rubbish.  On the off chance that you take the inconvenience to sift through the rubbish you learn some things, unpleasant ad they may be. The spread of fascism is inevitable and inherent to the system of power relations. An infection affecting the brain and spinal cord can go septic (Paul Ron is a physician), or if he gets into the bone it’s hard for the antibiotics to get to the site. It won't heal unless it is opned up, which means surgery. When avoiding fascists is not possible, mitigating the conflict by a delusional idea of beauty leads to nothing.

See also on this point Foucault (Histoire de la sexualité):

'Là où il y a pouvoir, il y a résistance et […] pourtant, ou plutôt par là même, celle-ci n’est jamais en position d’extériorité par rapport au pouvoir.'

‘When there is power there is resistance, and consequently this resistance is never in a position of exteriority in relation to power”

Unfazed by Hell. On hypocrisy

My best eavesdropping moment was on a train in Rome when I heard a relaxed and modest sounding middle aged Italian priest on his mobile telling the person on the other end that no action seemed to be necessary then, but that by the end of the following week it might prove necessary (per adesso lascia così, ma per la fine della settimana prossima … ). He thought he was defying his power of coercion but he was playing into his hands by dividing (now /then) and demonizing. And this is what is called hypocrisy.

Rumors that a spaceship has been seen near Rome

Last week I'd wanted to check on the doomsday subjects of the Italian television 'salon set'. I’d expected them to be all dead and buried. They were as wild and alive as ever. Those who like such drugs, all this constantly being a hair-breadth away from declaring a major incident (so forced as to outrage belief) will like this. As bad as it sounds none of these shows has 'living in the wild for a long period of time' as a premise. It's all about 'what I can do to survive until I'm back or am rescued'. One character reminded me of the story of the wicked undersecretary usurping the birthplace of a cocain dealer. The detection of his guilt by the suddden appearance on one of the screens inside this TARDIS of another politician whom I'd thought long dead was more than I could swallow. The defect in the narrative might have been neglected if the sordid details had not been so arranged as to kill the attention before the show even got started .
